Niall Walsh

Niall is the associate solicitor at Peter Connolly Solicitors. Born and raised in Dublin, Niall is a graduate of UCD where he graduated with a Masters Degree in History in 2006. 

After graduating, Niall worked in banking & finance with AIB in the Retail and Customer service team. Between 2008 and 2014 Niall worked with the Taipei Representative office in Ireland, assisting the ambassador and the diplomatic team within the political network in Ireland.

While completing his professional exams at Blackhall Place,  Niall served his time as a trainee solicitor at Fitzgibbon & Company Solicitors in Dublin. During this time he gained valuable experience in criminal law, immigration & asylum, employment law and settlement of cases. Niall qualified as a solicitor in 2014.

Experience & Activities

Niall has extensive training and experience in the field of Criminal Defence litigation and he regularly represents clients before the District Court and Children’s Court in Dublin. He is familiar with practice and procedure at all levels and has been involved in the preparation and running of cases in the Circuit Criminal Court, Central Criminal Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Niall also seeks to provide immediate, robust and practical advice to those suspected of involvement in criminal activity. He regularly attends at Garda Stations for the purposes of advancing the rights of persons detained for questioning in relation to allegations under such legislation as the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, the Misuse of Drugs Acts, the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, and the Offences Against the State Act.

In addition to the foregoing, Niall also advises clients in respect of civil litigation, personal injuries, immigration, and employment law matters. He has appeared before the Circuit Court, Workplace Relations Commission, Employment Appeals Tribunal, Labour Court, Residential Tenancies Board and other such tribunals and commissions
