Peter Connolly Solicitors successfully defended an individual accused of 3 counts of sexual assault (previously known as indecent assault) stemming from the early 1990’s. Our client, a married man with his own family had always protested his innocence and after a two day trial was unanimously acquited by a jury after nearly 2 hours deliberation.

This verdict was handed down on the 14th October, 2010 before Dublin Circuit Court 8 and the trial was presided over by His Honour Judge Patrick McCartan.

A Trial Judge merely advises the jury on the law; guilt or innocence is always left to the provence of a jury who must judge all issues of fact.

Our client had the benefit of criminal legal aid. The criminal legal aid certificate provided for representation by a solicitor and Senior Counsel.

The identities of any party involved in this case have not been disclosed due to Court ordered reporting restrictions and the privacy of persons involved.
